hurt

she stares with dead eyes
as the blood slowly wells up
then runs down her arm in rivulets
how strange, she thinks
the pain inside is still there
still so great it overpowers
the external pain she should
be feeling now
but she barely feels the cuts
as all the hurts inside
well up and twist around
like maggots
